With this painting I have tried to do a untraditional representation of the empowerment of women. In this watercolor she is placed in an art nouveau style scene dressed out of the norm for this style of painting. Her being young, beautiful and so scantily dressed is meant as a criticism of how women are portrayed in mainstream media. Yet even though she is catering to a male audience she's doesn't allow the objectification of her person change her self-image, instead flourishing in her power over her admirers.
